DIY Party Pup Collar

The year may almost be over, but ‘round here we’re still making spirits bright. Before you get out your best holiday outfit to wear to ring in the New Year, you can create this easy festive DIY Party Pup Collar so the adorable dog in your life can join in the celebration.

Grab some tulle, sewing elastic and pompoms and before you know it, your party guests will be gushing over your canine companion all night long! Let’s ring in the New Year with our favorite paw-ty guest!

You’ll need…

  • ¼ or ½ inch gold and white pom poms
  • Needle and thread
  • Scissors
  • Fabric glue

Step 1

Measure your dog’s neck and cut elastic about an inch longer than your measurement. The elastic should be long enough to loosely fit around your dog’s neck. Then, hand stitch the ends together with needle and thread. It should be less snug than a regular collar…too loose is better than too tight!

Step 2

Cut tulle about 8-10 inch strips until you have about 30-40 strips. Then cut all the ends to a point.

Step 3

Start tying tulle strips around the elastic collar, alternating colors and adding ribbons as you go. Continue tying on strips and ribbons until the collar is completely wrapped.

Step 4

Use a small dab of fabric glue to attach pom poms to several ends of tulle, let them dry, and you’re ready for a festive night!

These are so fun and easy, you can make a party scrunchy dog collar for any party occasion! Simply change up the colors and embellishments each time you want to “glam” your dog!

Wishing you and your best furry friends a happy yappy New Year!
